Arizona Fire and Medical Authority Lock Box Program Steps
Arizona Fire and Medical Authority lock box program consists of four steps. First of all, the purpose of the lock box is to enable the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority to enter your home in an emergency. For instance, if you can not come to the door. This is especially important in active adult communities like Sun Lakes, AZ.
First, go to fire station #2. This location is 25020 South Alma School Road. Therefore, you will want to go during normal business hours. Which are, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM. With this in mind, once you are there you will want to do the following;
- Tell the receptionist you have an interest in getting a lock box.
- Ask for a release form, complete and return to the receptionist.
- Pay the $50.00 cost of the lock box. Of course, you can pay by cash or check made out to the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority. Enter “LOCKBOX” in the memo line of the check.
- Pick up lock box kit.
Second, if you don’t already have one, have a spare key made.
By the way, homeowners can install their own lock box so long as the box placement is within 12 inches of the front door. Given that, preferably on the side of the door with door knob/lockset, and between forty- eight (48) and sixty (60) inches above the ground. Also, be sure to securely fasten the box to a stud or other structural part of the house.
Fourth, once installation is complete, call fire station #2 at 623-544-5400 to schedule on duty fire department personnel to come out and place your key in the box. Hence, your process is complete.
