Sun Lakes You Can Help us With Jacobs Mission Back to School Drive.
Jacobs Mission back to school drive is happening in Sun Lakes through August and September. Therefore, we need your help! We will be collecting backpacks and school supplies for children in the foster care system ages K – 12th grade. By the way, there are 13,000 children in the foster care system in Arizona.
Jacobs Mission Founded by 3 Foster Moms.
Jacobs Mission was founded by 3 foster moms, who, between them have 24 foster and adoptive children. Accordingly, Jacobs Mission in Mesa is dedicated to supporting children and families who’s lives have been impacted by foster care. Also, through their advocacy in passing Jacobs Law they discovered the dire need for additional preventative services in the foster care community.
Consequently, Jacobs Mission is doing just that! By strengthening and supporting these children and their families by providing much needed respite care, after school activities, training and support groups.
A Safe Place to get Help.
Children of all ages can come to Jacobs Mission for help with homework, music lessons, reading help and therapeutic programs. As a rule, many of the children in foster care have suffered some sort of trauma. Hence, Jacobs Mission is a warm loving environment supporting foster families and children through their various programs.
For instance, not only can families come to the mission for classes and therapy, here, you can come for your school supplies and clothing and shoes for the whole family. Also, there is a well stocked food pantry for those in need.
The Kolb Team Made New Friends.
We at The Kolb Team fell in love with Jacobs Mission and their founders when we spent the day sorting clothes, organizing the food pantry, and sorting books for their new library. By the way, we also got to play in the dirt when we where helping construct playground equipment!
The founders passion and dedications for supporting families and professionals alike is inspiring. As a result, they are restoring hope and empowering people to better serve children in need. Thereby, truly speaking to our hearts.
