Dog Days of Branding
You probably have noticed that The Kolb Team has updated its branding over the past few months. We have the more relaxed team photo taken on a couch in our backyard and fresh new listing and open house signs. Most importantly though, we have started to incorporate our two Bernese Mountain dogs in our branding!

Woodhouse is the older of the two, at 18 months old, and he is the timid one weighing ‘only’ around 100 pounds. Rushmore just turned one, currently weighing in at 130 pounds, and still acts very much like a puppy! We had to put them to work so they could earn their keep because they currently eat over 80 pounds of dog food a month!

Vendor of the Month
For 20 years, New Adventures in Learning has been affiliated with Chandler-Gilbert Community College to offer lifelong-learning classes.

Member Larry Noser suggests, “New Adventures may well be the best and least expensive way to entertain and educate yourself in a collegial atmosphere in Arizona.”
Every year, the completely volunteer group offers three semesters of classes and other events to enrich the lives of members. To see which classes are still open or to register online, go to www.NewAdventures.info and click the menu choice “Classes”, Or you could click here to go directly to the Lifelong Learning class list.
Presenters may be professionals in the areas they are teaching or simply may have an interest in certain topics and wish to share information. Members may sign up for as many classes as they would like once they have paid the initial annual membership cost of $50 and a $15 fee each semester that goes to CGCC. Personal development, of course, is at the heart of the various programs. This is a great opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of other self-motivated people in the community.

Foreclosure
In the simplest of terms, a foreclosure is an action taken by a mortgage lender to take possession of a property when the homeowner has defaulted on the mortgage payments. The laws governing foreclosures vary from state to state, so if you find yourself falling behind on your mortgage, or foresee a problem with making payments in the future, the faster you act, the better chance you have to save your home.
Foreclosures are reported on the homeowner's credit report for up to 7 years, so avoiding a foreclosure filing is undoubtedly in the homeowner's best interest, even if they don't want to keep the home. There are many options available for homeowners who don't want to keep the home or simply can't afford to. Options such as short sales or deeds-in-lieu can help the homeowner get out from under the home without having the situation reported as a foreclosure on their credit report.

His family says, “We just got his DNA back and we had him almost totally wrong! He is Pug, Papillion, terrier, poodle and a few other things. He is smart, fast, loves to play, and the best cuddler ever!
Mr. Harry, tell your parents to watch their inbox for a Chewy Gift Card.

If you would like your pet to be featured in our Pet of The Month and win a Chewy gift card for your sweet family member, send a picture to info@thekolbteam.com and tell us why your furbaby makes you happy. We look forward to seeing all of your awesome pet pics!

A Look Back At Some Interesting Jell-O Dishes
Since 2009, National Jell-O Week has been celebrated during the second full week of February. Nowadays, gelatin is more well known as being a sweet treat for dessert or a snack when one is feeling under the weather, with flavors such as strawberry, orange, and lime. It’s made of collagen extracted from bones and connective tissues, and has been used since the 1400s. Having many uses, it was even featured in 1923’s “The 10 Commandments”, a silent film that used it to simulate the parting of the Red Sea. We couldn’t help but take a look back at some of the weirdest gelatin recipes, including aspics and so-called salads, that were popular in decades past.
Tomato-Shrimp Aspic Salad
For this recipe, tomato sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, onions, celery, spices, and baby shrimp are encased in lemon Jell-O, then served on lettuce and garnished with mayonnaise.

Windsor Sausage in Jelly
Sausage, hardboiled egg slices, green beans, and gelatin are the main ingredients for this… delicacy.

Prune Salad Supreme
Billed as “cool, tangy, and delicious” that “sings with flavor and goodness”, this dish has sweet fruits, celery, and salty olives suspended in gelatin with a lettuce garnish. Apparently, lettuce as a garnish solves everything!

It may be hard to believe, but these concoctions were very popular in decades past. Hopefully, despite the plethora of odd combinations involving gelatin, plain Jell-O with a spoon was offered when someone was feeling under the weather. That’s all we’d want!
